abstract Provided is a method for measuring glycated hemoglobin in a hemoglobin-containing sample, said method involving generating hydrogen peroxide by reacting glycated hemoglobin in the hemoglobin-containing sample with an enzyme that catalyzes a reaction for generating hydrogen peroxide by oxidizing the glycated hemoglobin, and measuring the generated hydrogen peroxide, wherein a method for mitigating the impact of hemoglobin in the method for measuring glycated hemoglobin is characterized by reacting, in the presence of at least one type of compound selected from the group consisting of dithio-based compounds and maleimide-based compounds, glycated hemoglobin in the hemoglobin-containing sample with an enzyme that catalyzes a reaction for generating hydrogen peroxide by oxidizing glycated hemoglobin.
