titleOfInvention Neutron diagnostic device, and neutron diagnostic method
abstract This neutron diagnostic device includes a neutron generating unit including a compound containing a stable element having a neutron capture cross section at least equal to 1000 barn (1000×10 -28 m 2 ), and a moderator for decelerating neutrons, and a gamma ray detecting unit for detecting gamma rays, and is provided with: a neutron source for radiating neutrons at a living body serving as an observation target, in a time period in which, after the compound has been administered to the living body, a predetermined difference arises in the concentration of the compound in tissue between normal tissue and diseased tissue; and an output unit for outputting a result obtained by the gamma ray detecting unit observing gamma rays released by means of a reaction between an element included in the compound and neutrons, in the living body at which the neutrons have been radiated.
