abstract Provided is a powder for a solid oxide fuel cell air electrode, the powder being a powder of a metal composite oxide that has a perovskite type crystal structure represented by the general formula A11-xA2xBO3-δ (where element A1 is at least one selected from the group consisting of La and Sm; element A2 is at least one selected from the group consisting of Ca, Sr, and Ba; element B is at least one selected from the group consisting of Mn, Fe, Co, and Ni; 0<x<1; and δ is the amount of oxygen deficiency). The powder has a specific surface area of 20 m2/g or more, satisfies (crystallite size/particle size converted from specific surface area)≥0.3, and the content of an element M that excludes the element A1, the element A2, the element B, and oxygen is 300 ppm or less in terms of atoms.
