abstract |
Provided are a separation device and separation method for separating, from a suspension obtained via suspension culturing adhesive cells by using a microscopic scaffold, a solid to-be-separated material contained in the suspension. The separation device comprises a separation chamber having a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber and the second chamber being divided by a separation mesh structure. The separation mesh structure has mesh of a predetermined mesh size so as to inhibit passage of the to-be-separated material, and is disposed in the separation chamber so that the direction in which the liquid in the suspension advances when the liquid passes through the mesh has a vertically-upward-facing directional component. |
