One of the embodiments of the present invention provides an electrochemical device which has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution housed in a case, wherein: the positive electrode comprises a current collector and a sulfur-containing positive electrode material layer provided to a principal surface of the current collector; and the inner surface of the case and the surface of the current collector in the positive electrode are covered at least by a layer that comprises a metal material having a higher standard redox potential than that of the sulfur in use. |
