abstract | A battery packaging material excellent in formability is provided, in a battery packaging material comprising a laminate including at least a base material layer, a barrier layer, and a heat-sealable resin layer in this order. The battery packaging material of the present invention is composed of a laminate including at least a base layer, a barrier layer, and a heat fusible resin layer in this order, and the thickness of the laminate is 100 μm or less. The thickness of the laminate is measured with respect to the breaking energy per unit width of 1 m calculated from the curve of measured load (N / 15 mm) -displacement measured when a tensile test is performed under the following test conditions. The sum X + Y of the breaking energy X in one direction perpendicular to the direction and the breaking energy Y in the other direction perpendicular to both the one direction and the thickness direction of the laminate is 200 J or more.
