abstract | Provided is an electromagnetic wave shield member which has a high shield characteristic with respect to electromagnetic waves of gigahertz band, and which is transmissive to electromagnetic waves of the ultraviolet region to the mid-infrared region. The electromagnetic wave shield member is provided with a metal foil formed with a plurality of through-holes penetrating therethrough in a thickness direction. The through-holes have an average opening diameter of 0.1 μm to 100 μm, and an average opening ratio of 1% to 50%. When the opening diameter of the through-holes is 1 μm to 1.5 μm, the transmittance with respect to wavelengths up to one-half the opening diameter of the through-holes from the ultraviolet region to the visible region is not less than 10% of the opening ratio. When the opening diameter of the through-holes is 1.5 μm to 5 μm, the transmittance with respect to the ultraviolet region to the visible region is in a range of -5% to +5% of the opening ratio of the through-holes, and the transmittance with respect to wavelengths up to one-half the opening diameter of the through-holes in the near-infrared region is not less than 10% of the opening ratio; when the opening diameter of the through-holes is not less than 5 μm, the transmittance from the ultraviolet region to the near-infrared region is in a range of -5% to +5% of the opening ratio of the through-holes, and the transmittance with respect to wavelengths up to one-half the opening diameter of the through-holes in the mid-infrared region is not less than 10% of the opening ratio. |
