abstract |
An exhaust gas cleaning catalyst disclosed in the present invention is disposed in an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine and cleans up nitrogen oxide contained in exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine, wherein the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is provided with a silver-alumina catalyst containing at least alumina which serves as a support and silver that is supported on the alumina. The silver-alumina catalyst has a ratio of the peak intensity at the wavenumber 1595 cm -1 in pyridine IR to the peak intensity at the wavenumber 1613 cm -1 in pyridine IR of 0.3 or higher. Moreover, the supported amount of silver is 1.0 to 6.0 wt% when the total amount of silver-alumina catalyst is 100 wt%. |
