abstract | A method for forming a pattern on a substrate (201), wherein: a layer of a curable composition (202), which contains a component (a1) that is a polymerizable compound and a component (b1) that is a photopolymerization initiator and is contained in an amount of 0 part by weight or more but less than 0.1 part by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the component (a1), is arranged on the surface of the substrate (201); droplets of a curable composition (203), which contains a component (a2) that is a polymerizable compound and a component (b2) that is a photopolymerization initiator, are discretely dropped on the layer of the curable composition (202), thereby sandwiching a mixed layer of the curable composition (202) and the curable composition (203) between a mold (205) and the substrate (201); the mixed layer is cured by means of irradiation of light (206); and the mold (205) is removed from the mixed layer after curing. If the curable composition (202) is exposed to light at an illumination intensity of 1.00 mW/cm 2 for a light exposure time of 100.0 seconds, the polymer conversion rate of the polymerizable compound (a1) is 50% or less. |
