A lubricating oil composition is provided which achieves both a high viscosity index and a high shear stability, and which contains (1) a mineral oil that has a 2.5-5 mm 2 /s kinematic viscosity at 100°C and (2) a polymethacrylate that has a prescribed structural unit and has a functional group containing an oxygen atom in the molecule; a lubricating method and a transmission that use said composition are also provided. |
