The device (2) is capable of: - calculating a spectral power PSPG(t) of alpha waves measured uniquely inside a right or left central zone, the right and left central zones being the surfaces of the skull of the patient which contain, respectively, only positions C3, C5, C5h, FCC5h, CCP5h and positions C4, C6, C6h, FCC6h, CCP6h of the nomenclature of the 10-5 system, - determining a mean level NMPG of the spectral power of the alpha waves measured uniquely inside the right or left central zone, - verifying the following condition: PSPG(t) ≤ S1 x NMPG for a least one of the central zones, where S1 is a predetermined positive coefficient less than 0.9, and - triggering the signalling of a pain felt by the patient only if the condition is verified. |
