Provided is a lithium ion secondary battery which is provided with a negative electrode having a high capacity and containing, as an active material, a metal and/or a metal oxide, and which has improved cycle characteristics. The present invention relates to a lithium ion secondary battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an electrolyte solution, and this lithium ion secondary battery is characterized in that: the negative electrode contains a polyacrylic acid and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of (a) carbon materials which are capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions, (b) lithium metal and metals which are capable of forming an alloy with lithium, and (c) metal oxides which are capable of absorbing and desorbing lithium ions; and the electrolyte solution contains at least one disulfonic acid ester. |
