abstract |
A positive electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a positive electrode collector; and a positive electrode mixture layer that is formed on the collector and contains a positive electrode active material. The positive electrode active material contains, as a main component, a lithium transition metal oxide that contains nickel (Ni) at a molar ratio of 20% or more relative to the transition metal component. The positive electrode mixture layer comprises a plurality of pores, and has a first peak of the log differential pore volume distribution (dV/dlogD) within a pore diameter D range of less than 1 μm and a second peak of the log differential pore volume distribution (dV/dlogD) within a pore diameter D range of 1 μm or more in the pore distribution as determined by mercury intrusion porosimetry. A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent output characteristics is able to be provided by means of this configuration. |
