Provided are: cells for evaluating promotion of tight junction formation; and a tight junction formation promoter. In detail, provided are: a cell strain, and culture product thereof, that is derived from L fibroblasts, that induces polynucleotide encoding claudin such that expression is possible, and that can stably express claudin; and an agent the active ingredient of which is NK-93, or N-[2-[N-(4-chlorocinnamyl)-N-methylaminomethyl]phenyl]-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methoxybenzene sulfonamide phosphate (another name, N-[2-[[[3-(4'-chlorophenyl)-2-propenyl]methylamino]methyl]phenyl]-N-(2-nhydroxyethyl)-4'-methoxybenzene sulfonamide phosphate). This cell strain and culture product are useful in the screening of substances having the ability to promote tight junction formation. This agent is useful as an additive for a cosmetic composition, and is useful for the treatment of diseases or conditions related to TJ formation, such as ulcerative colitis, atopic dermatitis, and bronchial asthma. |
