abstract |
The main purpose of the present invention is to provide: a thermosetting composition having photo-alignment properties, which is able to be cured at low temperatures and is capable of forming an alignment layer that has excellent stability in terms of liquid crystal alignment ability; an alignment layer which uses this thermosetting composition; a substrate with an alignment layer; a retardation plate; and a device.nThe present invention achieves the above-described purpose by providing a thermosetting composition having photo-alignment properties, which is characterized by containing a copolymer that has a photo-alignment constituent unit and a thermally crosslinkable constituent unit wherein thermally crosslinkable groups are bonded with each other via a linear alkylene group having 4-11 carbon atoms or a polyethylene glycol group having a repetition number of 2-5. |
