In particular, the present invention relates to nano-sized synthetic calcium phosphates and calcium apatite nanomaterials showing simultaneous contrast for at least any two of the medical imaging modalities including radio, raman-, near-infrared fluroscence-, magnetic resonance and x-ray-imaging.
