abstract The present invention relates to a Bacillus subtilis detection kit comprising a fluorescent compound which specifically binds to the hydrolase expressed from yqjL gene of the Bacillus subtilis and to a method for detecting Bacillus subtilis using said kit. The method and the kit according to one embodiment of the present invention detect the hydrolase expressed from yqjL gene of the Bacillus subtilis which specifically binds to 3',6'-bis(acetyloxy)-5-(chloromethyl)-spiro(isobenzofuran-1(3H),9'-(9H)xanthene)-3-on so as to distinguish between Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus cereus , thus providing an easy, quick and accurate identification result.
