Provided are: a solid solution lithium-containing α-sialon phosphor, wherein Li + is made to form a solid solution in order to stabilize the structure, having excellent luminous efficiency compared to phosphors of the prior art; a light-emitting element; and a lighting device. With regard to a europium-activated solid solution lithium-containing α-sialon: the lattice constant a is set at 0.7820 to 0.7835 nm, the lattice constant c is set at 0.5645 to 0.5670 nm, the oxygen content is set at 0.4 to 1.2 mass%, and the europium content is set at 0.3 to 1.2 mass%; and the peak wavelength of the fluorescence spectrum when excited by monochromatic light having a peak wavelength ranging from 450 to 460 nm is set at a range of 580 to 595 nm. |
