The invention provides a peptide fragment of human fibrinogen that is a peptide the expression of which in the serum increases over time from before the onset of metastasis to after the onset of metastasis in a cancer patient, and a method for diagnosing metastasis in a cancer patient characterized in detecting the expression of the abovementioned peptide in a biological sample derived from that patient. This method makes possible the early detection and early treatment of metastasis. |
