abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a means capable of early detection of a patient with internal carotid artery stenosis. A serum sample obtained from a plurality of healthy subjects and patients with internal carotid artery stenosis is analyzed by SELDI-TOF MS using a protein chip, and then a single marker analysis is performed by comparing peak intensities. Two types of polypeptides were identified that could distinguish between healthy subjects-internal carotid artery stenosis and between low-risk patients with cerebral infarction and high-risk patients within the patient group. [Effect] By using these polypeptides as indices, patients with internal carotid artery stenosis, especially patients with high risk of cerebral infarction can be detected with high accuracy.
