The problem of the present invention is to provide a multilayer film-forming method with which is formed a multilayer film having excellent smoothness, image clarity, adhesiveness, and water resistance, even when multiple uncured films are simultaneously cured at a low temperature. The multilayer film-forming method of the present invention is characterized in comprising a step 1-1 for coating an object to be coated with a primer coating material (X) to form an uncured primer film, a step 1-2 for coating the object to be coated having the uncured primer film with a water-based colored coating material for a base coat (Y 1 ) to form an uncured base coating film, a step 1-3 for coating the object to be coated having the uncured primer film and base coat film with a clear coating material (Z) to form an uncured clear film, and a step 1-4 for heating and curing the uncured primer film, base coating film, and clear film, wherein the water-based colored coating material (Y 1 ) comprises a hydroxyl group-containing resin (A) and a block isocyanate compound (B) having predetermined block isocyanate groups. |
