abstract A chlorine dioxide-containing product which comprises an inorganic porous carrier carrying a chlorite and an alkali agent, wherein the amount of the carried alkali agent is larger than 0.7 molar equivalent and not larger than 2 molar equivalents, relative to the amount of the carried chlorite, and the water content is not more than 10 wt%. This chlorine dioxide-containing product can stably generate over a long time chlorine dioxide gas in such an amount as being sufficiently applicable to the environment, foods and so on for deodorization, sterilization, virus-removal, mold prevention, antiputrefaction, etc. without negatively impacting the human body.
