The invention limits the reduction in the mechanical properties of foam due to the use of stored polyol system solutions. An intermediate polyol is obtained through a process of ring-opening addition polymerization of an alkylene oxide with an initiator in the presence of a composite metal cyanide complex catalyst. To said intermediate polyol, 1 - 23 moles of ethylene oxide per 1 mole of initiator are ring-opening addition polymerized using an alkali metal hydroxide as polymerization catalyst to obtain a polyether polyol (A1) with an average of two to eight hydroxyl groups and a hydroxyl value of 5 - 45 mg KOH/g. A polyol system solution is prepared using said polyether polyol, and a soft polyurethane foam is produced using said polyol system solution. |
