abstract |
Provided are: a vinyl chloride resin and a method for producing the vinyl chloride resin; and a dispersant for suspension polymerization, which has excellent basic characteristics as a primary dispersant for minimizing fisheyes and increasing the bulk specific gravity of the vinyl chloride resin that is obtained, which has low aqueous solution viscosity, and which has excellent workability when dissolved. The dispersant for suspension polymerization that is used contains a modified polyvinyl alcohol having: structural units composed of carbonyl groups such as maleic acid alkyl; a degree of saponification of 75 mol% to less than 90 mol%, and an absorbance of 0.5 to 2.5 at 280 nm in a 0.2 mass% aqueous solution or an aqueous methanol mixed solution; and a viscosity of 4 mPa⋅s to less than 30 mPa⋅s, as measured using the method stipulated in JIS K 6726. |
