abstract |
Provided is a polythiol-containing composition for optical materials which makes it possible to predict and asses, in a stage prior to polymerization/curing, whether clouding will occur or not after polymerization/curing. Specifically provided is a composition for optical materials which comprises both an episulfide and a polythiol that exhibits an initial turbidity of 0.5ppm or less and that exhibits a turbidity of 0.6ppm or less after the storage at 50°C for 7 days. Namely, an optical material made from a composition for optical materials which contains a polythiol satisfying the above turbidity requirements can be prevented from clouding to exhibit excellent transparency. |
