An expanded particle of a polyethylene-based resin characterized by having an expansion ratio of 10-50 fold inclusive, and, in a DSC curve obtained by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), showing two melting peaks, i.e., a low-temperature side melting peak and a high-temperature side melting peak, and a shoulder having a shoulder rate of 0.2-3% inclusive within a temperature range from 100 o C to said low-temperature side melting peak temperature inclusive. Thus, expanded particles of the polyethylene-based resin for producing an in-mold expansion molded article of the polyethylene-based resin with a high expansion ratio, which show particularly good fusion level at an edge of the in-mold expansion molded article, have excellent appearance and exhibit excellent surface characteristics (beautiful surface) without forming any wrinkles or voids on the surface of the in-mold expansion molded article, can be obtained. |
