abstract Disclosed is a process for producing (R)-3-quinuclidinol, which is a compound useful as an intermediate for the production of pharmaceutical agents, effectively and on an industrial scale.n(R)-3-Quinuclidinol can be produced by reacting a polypeptide derived from a bacterium belonging to the genus Burkholderia or a transgenic organism imparted with an ability of producing the polypeptide with 3-quinuclidinone or a salt thereof to reduce 3-quinuclidinone or the salt thereof.
