An alcohol level detection apparatus comprising a chamber (17) associated with a delivery path for a sample volume; conditioning means (29) for the chamber to temperature condition the sample volume in vapour equalisation with air in a head space for the chamber; and a fuel cell (22) to sample the vapour equalisation, the electrical voltage in the fuel cell giving an indication of the alcohol level relative to the temperature condition. |
