abstract The present invention relates to the use of a (1→3)-β-D-glucan as an emulsion stabiliser. The present invention further relates to emulsions comprising a (1→3)-β-D- glucan in an amount of 0.01 to 10 wt.%, based on the total weight of the emulsion. The present invention also relates to bitumen binder compositions comprising a (1→3)-β-D- glucan in an amount of 0.005 to less than 0.1 wt.%, based on the total weight of the bitumen binder composition. The present invention further relates to emulsions comprising a novel biodegradable emulsifying agent, in particular in combination with a (l→3)-β-D-glucan.
