Specifically disclosed is a catalyst for carboxylic acid ester production, wherein nickel in an oxidized state and X (which is at least one element selected from the group consisting of nickel, palladium, platinum, ruthenium, gold, silver and copper) are loaded on a carrier at a Ni/(Ni + X) atomic ratio of 0.20-0.99.
