titleOfInvention Dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization of vinyl compound, and method for production of vinyl compound polymer
abstract Disclosed is a poly(vinyl alcohol)-type dispersion stabilizer which can be used for the suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound, which can reduce the formation of coarse particles compared to a conventional one, can produce a vinyl compound polymer having a sharp particle diameter distribution, and can reduce the amount of scales attached onto a polymerization vessel. Also disclosed is a method for producing the dispersion stabilizer. The dispersion stabilizer comprises a carbon monooxide/vinyl alcohol copolymer having a unit derived from carbon monooxide (a CO unit) and a vinyl alcohol unit, wherein the copolymer contains the CO unit in an amount of 0.01 to 8 mol%, and has a viscosity average polymerization degree of 200 to 3500 and a saponification degree of 60 to 90 mol%.
