abstract The invention relates to an antimicrobial composition comprising an organic antimicrobial component (K) and at least one metal salt component (M) and if applicable, a solvent (L) and further auxiliary components, the composition comprising at least one compound of the general formula (I) as the organic component (K), wherein the radicals independently from each other have the following meanings, for example: R1 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R2 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R3 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 to 12 carbon atoms, R4 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R5 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R6 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 8 to 18 carbon atoms, n is an integer from 1 to 6. The composition comprises at least one salt of a divalent to pentavalent metal as the metal salt component and can be used to permanently finish textiles.
