The invention relates to a method for producing an antimicrobial formulation by reacting a compound of formula (1): (R<1>O)3Si-(CH2)3-X with a compound of formula (2): (H3C)NR<2>R<3>, wherein R<1> means C1-C4-alkyl, R<2> means C8-C20-alkyl and R<3> means methyl or C8-C20-alkyl and X means Cl, Br, excluding iodides, in a mol ratio of (1):(2) = 1:0.9 to 1:1.4. The invention is characterised in that the reaction is carried out in a solvent corresponding to formula (3), wherein R<4> means C1-C4-alkyl, R<5> means H or methyl, R<6> means H or methyl, m means 2, 3, 4 or 5, although for m = 2, R<4> and R<6> do not both mean methyl, said solvent not being separated off after the reaction, or by the addition of this solvent after the reaction. The invention also relates to an antimicrobial formulation which can be produced according to the method described above. |
