titleOfInvention 12-deoxyfusicoccin derivative and cell differentiation-inducing agent containing the same as active ingredient
abstract The invention relates to a fusicoccin derivative and a cell differentiation-inducing agent containing the same as an active ingredient, an anti-hematologic malignancy agent, an antitumor agent, an agent for enhancing an antitumor effect, a kit, a method of treating cancer, a method of enhancing an antitumor effect and the like. Various derivatives were chemically synthesized from a fusicoccin as a starting material and the mammalian cell differentiation-inducing activities of the derivatives and cotylenins were assayed and a fusicoccin derivative having a structure in which one side chain at the 3-positon of the fusicoccan-type diterpene skeleton is a hydrogen atom and the other is -CH2OR14 (R14 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms) or CH2X (X represents a halogen atom) and the 12-position does not have any substituent was found to show a cell differentiation-inducing activity. Further, the fusicoccin derivative was found to have a growth-inhibitory action of a leukemia cell and an action of enhancing the antitumor activity of interferon-α.
