abstract | A photosensitive material for lithographic plates which is suitable for use in exposure to a laser light having a wavelength of 350-450 nm, has satisfactory stability to safety lights, and is excellent in chemical resistance, linearity, and printing performance; and a photosensitive composition giving the photosensitive material for lithographic plates. This photosensitive material for lithographic plates comprises a photosensitive composition comprising (A) an addition-polymerizable compound containing an ethylenic double bond, (B) a photopolymerization initiator, (C) a polymeric binder, and (D) a dye having a maximum absorption wavelength of 350-450 nm, and is characterized in that the addition-polymerizable compound (A) containing an ethylenic double bond comprises a compound represented by the following general formula (1) and the photopolymerization initiator (B) comprises a biimidazole compound. |
