abstract | A method of adjusting the clearance between a nozzle and a work to a desired distance in a liquid coater for coating the work with liquid ejected form the nozzle, comprising (a) the distance measuring step of detecting the contact of a non-contact distance sensor with the tip end of the nozzle by the non-contact distance sensor arranged in parallel to the nozzle and measuring a distance up to the reference surface of a contact detection sensor having the reference surface facing the nozzle tip end, (b) the nozzle contact step of obtaining nozzle position information by bringing the nozzle tip end into contact with the reference surface of contact detection sensor, (c) the distance measuring step of measuring prior to coating/drawing the distance from the non-contact distance sensor to the work by the non-contact distance sensor, (d) and the step of adjusting a nozzle clearance to a desired distance based on relative position information on the nozzle and the non-contact distance sensor obtained in the distance measuring step (a) and the nozzle contact step (b) and the distance obtained by the distance measuring step (c), whereby it is possible to obtain accurate relative positions of the nozzle and the non-contact distance sensor in a nozzle clearance direction by being hardly affected by the undulation or inclination of the work and accurately adjust a nozzle clearance. |
