The invention relates to an edible fat composition comprising from 0 to 90 % by weight plant sterol and/or stanol calculated as sterol equivalents and from 10 to 98.5 % by weight of an absorbable fat component, comprising from 0.05 to 60% by weight eicosenoic acid based on the edible fat composition and n-3 fatty acids and n-6 fatty acids at a weight ratio from 0.6:1 to 5.0:1. The composition reduces postprandial lipemia and/or the risk for type 2 diabetes and/or the risk for cardiovascular diseases and/or lowers the blood total and/or LDL cholesterol and/or improves the blood HDL cholesterol and/or reduces the risk for inflammations. |
