abstract An additive for a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte, characterized in that it comprises a phosphazene derivative which is solid at 25° and is represented by the following general formula (1) : (PNR2)n, wherein R represents a monovalent substituent or a halogen atom, and n represents a number of 3 to 6; and a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte secondary cell and a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte electric double layer capacitor comprising the additive for a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte. The secondary cell and capacitor are excellent in self-extinguishing property or flame-retardancy, exhibits excellent resistance to deterioration, and also, due to the low viscosity of the non-aqueous liquid electrolyte, exhibits low internal resistance and is excellent in conmductivity.
