abstract The invention concerns a sugar-free confectionery, characterised in that it comprises a sweetening filler including branched maltodextrins having between 15 and 35 % of 1-6 glucoside linkages, a reducing sugar content less than 20 %, a polymolecularity index less than 5 and a number-average molecular weight Mn not more than 4500 g/mole and at least a polyol selected in the group consisting of erythritol, mannitol and maltitol, said branched maltodextrins constituting 0.5 to 75 % of the sweetening filler and said polyol constituting not more than 13.5 % and preferably not more than 10 % of the sweetening filler it comprises.
