Human Vα24+ natural killer T cells are amplified by incubating a mononuclear cell fraction, which can be obtained from human peripheral blood under the mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, in the presence of a cytokine capable of proliferating and/or activating lymphocytes and a-glycosylceramide. Cell fractions containing the human Vα24+ natural killer T cells having been amplified by this method are useful as remedies for cancer. |
