abstract Naphthalene derivatives represented by the general formula (1), which exhibit an excellent fibrinolysis accelerating effect and are useful as orally administrable antithrombotic or thrombolytic drugs wherein R1 is hydrogen, halogeno, hydroxyl, carboxyl, -OSO3H, -O-C1-6 Ak-R1a, C2-6 alkenyl substituted with C1-6 alkoxycarbonyl, or -CO-N(R1c)(R1d); R2 is hydrogen, halogeno, or -C1-6 Ak-CO-N(R1c)(R1d); and A is a group having a pyrimidine or 1-methylhydantoin ring as represented by the general formula (a), (b) or (c).
