Cleaning material for extruders |
abstract |
The invention relates to a cleaning material for devices to process thermoplastic molten masses such as extruders. The cleaning material contains substantially discrete, plastic deformable particles made of a thermoplastic material (A) with a melting point of over 200 DEG C and a crystallinity of less than or equal to 50 % and an amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic material (B) with a processing temperature below the melting point of thermoplastic material (A). Said thermoplastic material (A) is added to the cleaning material in an amount of 1 to 95 weight percent and the thermoplastic material (B) in an amount of 5-95 weight percent. The weight percentages of (A) and (B) supplement each other by 100 % or less. The discrete, plastic deformable particles of thermoplastic material (A) exhibit very effective cleaning action while the amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic material (B) serves as liquid or free-flowable carrier for the plastic deformable particles of thermoplastic material (A) and/or the detached impurities. |
