A polyhydroxyalkanoate that comprises a unit represented by the following chemical formula (1): n n nwherein R1 is a substituent of an aromatic ring selected from the group consisting of H, CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , CH 3 CH 2 CH 2 , (CH 3 ) 2 CH, (CH 3 ) 3 C, a halogen atom, CN, NO 2 , COOR′, and SO 2 R″, wherein R′ is selected from the group consisting of H, Na, K, CH 3 , and C 2 H 5 , and R″ is selected from the group consisting of OH, a halogen atom, ONa, OK, OCH 3 , and OC 2 H 5 ; and x represents an integer of 1 to 8 being the same or different each other in the polyhydroxyalkanoate. A method for producing the polyhydroxyalkanoate is also provided. |
