PCT No. PCT/JP96/01697 Sec. 371 Date Dec. 22, 1997 Sec. 102(e) Date Dec. 22, 1997 PCT Filed Jun. 19, 1996 PCT Pub. No. WO97/00880 PCT Pub. Date Jan. 9, 19977-O-(4-Amino-2,4,6-trideoxy-2-fluoro- alpha -L-mannopyranosyl)daunomycinone or -adriamycinone is now synthesized as a daunomycinone or adriamycinone derivative having the general formula wherein R is a hydrogen atom or hydroxyl group. These novel compounds according to this invention exhibit excellent antitumor activities and have a high solubility in water, and hence they are useful as an antitumor agent. |
