abstract |
An image forming method using a thermal transfer processes and an apparatus used in the method are disclosed. The images were formed on the image receiving layer of a image recording body and includes a gradation information-containing image formed by means of a thermal sublimation transfer method and a character information-containing image formed by means of a thermal fusion transfer method. A trans parent protective layer is transferred from a protective forming thermal transfer sheet to the surface of image receiving layer so as to cover the whole area of the image receiving layer by a hot stamping means. The hot stamping means has a heating roll which has a contacting length longer than the width of said image receiving layer and a peripheral length longer than the length of said image receiving layer. |
