A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which is inhibited in formation of pepper spot in a halftone image and capable of making extremely high contrast image thereon. The light-sensitive material contains a compound represented by the following formula: ##STR1## wherein A 1 and A 2 are each an arylene group or a divalent heterocyclic group; L is a linking group;z is a formyl group, an acyl group, a sulfonyl group, a carbamoyl group, a sulfamoyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a thioacyl group or a ##STR2## group; X is --NR 6 R 7 or --OR 8 , in which R 6 and R 7 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a heterocyclic group, a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, an alkenylkoxy group, an alkynyloxy group, an aryloxy group, or a heterocyclic oxy group, and R 8 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; n is 1 or 2; m is 0 or 1; R 1 and R 2 are each a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group or an amino group, provided that when n is 1, at least one of the R 1 and R 2 is an amino group; R 3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and R 4 and R 5 are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent. |
