A photosensitive ceramic coating composition which is fireable in a substantially nonoxidizing atmosphere comprising an admixture of: (a) finely divided particles of ceramic solids, (b) finely divided particles of an inorganic binder dispersed in an organic medium comprising (c) an organic polymeric binder, and (d) a photoinitiation system, dissolved in (e) photohardenable monomer, and (f) an organic medium wherein the improvement comprises an organic polymeric binder containing a copolymer or interpolymer of a C1-C10 alkyl acrylate, C1-C10 methacrylate, styrene, and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, wherein a moiety in the binder derived from the unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises from 5 to less than 15 weight percent of the polymer and wherein the binder has a molecular weight not greater than 100,000 and wherein the composition upon imagewise exposure to actinic radiation is developable in an organic solvent-water mixture. |
