abstract DENTAL CEMENTS ARE PREPARED BY MIXING A SURGICAL GRADE METAL OXIDE POWDER WITH A WATER-SOLUBLE POLYMER OF ACRYLIC ACID AND WATER TO GIVE A PLASTIC MASS THAT RAPIDLY HARDENS. THE CEMENTS THUS PRODUCED HAVE GREATER ADHESION AND CAUSE LESS IRRITATION THAN CONVENTIONAL ZINC PHOSPHATE CEMENTS.
