abstract The present invention relates to a process of producing a conjugated diene including a step of mixing a raw material gas containing a monoolefin having a carbon atom number of 4 or more with a molecular oxygen-containing gas and supplying the mixture into a reactor, and a step of obtaining a corresponding conjugated diene-containing product gas produced by the oxidative dehydrogenation reaction of the monoolefin having a carbon atom number of 4 or more in the presence of a catalyst, wherein the concentration of a combustible gas in the gas supplied to the reactor is not less than the upper explosion limit and the oxygen concentration in the product gas is from 2.5 to 8.0 vol %.
