abstract Disclosed herein is a semiconductor device including: a gate electrode on a substrate; a gate insulating film covering said gate electrode; an organic semiconductor layer disposed so as to be superposed above said gate electrode with said gate insulating film interposed between the organic semiconductor layer and the gate electrode within a width of said gate electrode; and a source electrode and a drain electrode having respective end parts disposed so as to be opposed to each other on said organic semiconductor layer in a state of said gate electrode being interposed between the source electrode and the drain electrode in a direction of the width of said gate electrode.
